Cover Crops - Pollinator Mixes

Bee health and sustainability, bloom timing while managing growth and planting dates are factors to be considered when growing cover crops for the primary purpose of promoting bee activity.  In early blooming almonds, the use of pollinator mix cover crops can enhance bee flights if they have a crop close by that they can use to become conditioned to work before the almonds bloom.  Pollinator mixes also provide organic matter, improve water infiltration rates and house beneficial insects while providing good competition for weeds.
